| Day 1 Seattle: Arrive SeaTac's Air Executel (courtesy bus) by 2 PM to shoot the Seattle skyline and landmarks. Days 2 & 3 Port Angeles & Hurricane Ridge: Bainbridge ferry across Puget Sound to a one of America¹s most magnificent Alpine belvederes. Above Port Angeles, green meadows and jagged snowy peaks of the Olympic Mountains shelter plentiful wildlife--deer and marmots are easily approached in this Alpine Eden--carpets of wild flowers, too. Riviera Inn--2 nights Days 4 & 5 Hoh Rain Forest & Beaches: Hoh Rain Forest¹s unique green-on-green wonderland is an Elliot Porter paradise. Remote beaches are lovelier than fantasy can imagine with sea stacks looming in the mist or reflected in calm tide pools. There is beautiful macro work to be done in the mossy Eden of the rain forest. Forks Motel--2 nights Day 6 & 7 Seaside: South to the mouth of the mighty Columbia River. Seaside is convenient to the rocky headlands and sea stacks of Ecola State Park and Cannon Beach. Wind-sculpted trees and a great orange sun setting into a misty sea provide stunning images. Remote coves offer sculpted driftwood, eroded cliffs and quiet reflecting pools. Enjoy picnics on the beach and fresh salmon dinners at famous coastal eateries. Hillside Inn--2 nights Day 8 Columbia Gorge: One last morning at the beach, then up the mighty Columbia River to Troutdale. The last light on the magnificent basaltic Crown Point from a high lookout is a vast golden panorama of one of the world¹s great rivers. Holiday Express--1 night Day 9 -11 Mt. Rainier National Park: First the Gorge -- Multnomah Falls, divided by it's classic bridge, is perfect with a red umbrella and yellow slicker. Horsetail and Bridal Veil Falls are more natural. Latourell Falls arches out from a stony basin to fall into a quiet pool. Oneonta Gorge is a mossy slot canyon and vision of primordial wilderness. After lunch we drive past Mt. St. Helens, arriving to Mt. Rainier by early afternoon. We have three days to explore beautiful alpine meadows. We'll be out for first light on a series of small ponds that reflect one of the most magnificent mountains in the world--14,411' Mt. Rainier. Wild flower meadows are ablaze with color--either bright yellow Glacier lilies, white Avalanche lilies or the reds of Valerian, Owl's clover and Indian paintbrush. Evening alpine glow adds much excitement to our images--we work the morning and evening light along a series of spectacular trails. National Park Lodge--3 nights Day 12 (July 22) Flights home: Early departure to capture several stunning views of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
